Enhancing employability skills in business education is considered as an important challenge for all universities, colleges and institutes. We have deliberately made an attempt to judge the employability skills of Management students and we are also interested to know the perceptions of employers as well as teachers of different management institutes in terms of their employability. This study will also try to focus on the existing gap between employers and academicians in terms of employability of students. Microfinance is necessary for up-gradation of the lifestyle of the deprived section of society. Whereas CSR is necessary to make business houses more responsible towards society. This research evaluates the CSR values imparted by Microfinance Institutions (MFis) to society. For this, a total of223 samples were taken into this study and Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was carried out with the help of a statistical package i.e. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to identify the underlying factors that determine CSR values such as Legal Responsibility (LEGR), Economic Responsibility (ECOR), Philanthropic Responsibility (PHTR) and Ethical Responsibility (ETHR). Later on path analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were performed with the help of Analysis of a Moment Structures (AMOS). The study results suggest that MFis are discharging CSR values such as Legal Responsibility (LEGR) and Ethical Responsibility (ETHR) more efficiently than Economy Responsibility (ECOR) and Philanthropy Responsibility (PHTR). The findings of the study will help the stakeholders of the society to evaluate the CSR value provided by MFis in the society. There are various issues that need to be addressed by the policy makers while allowing FDI in multi-brand retail. It can hardly be denied that entry of big giants in the retail sector may adversely affect a large section of population employed in the unorganized retail. Proper regulatory measures should be imposed to protect the vulnerable sections of the society.Item Open Access Globalisation : its impact on industrial relations in tea plantation of terai and dooars region of West Bengal(University of North Bengal, 2012) Mitra, Subhasis; Mitra, DebabrataItem Open Access Growth-Inflation nexus in USA: A Threshold Regression Approach(University of North Bengal, 2017-03) Bhowmik, Debesh; Biswas, Debasish; Mitra, DebabrataThe paper endeavors to find out the nature of inflation of USA during 1961-2015 and to find out the nexus between inflation and growth using Granger causality, Johansen co-integration and vector error correction models. It also showed threshold limit of inflation of 1.75-3.0 per cent in USA using GDP deflator as inflation and taking World Bank Data. It finds one structural break at 1992 and no random walk with drift. Growth inflation nexus is negative. They are co-integrated and showed unidirectional causality. Error correction process is very fast and significant but vector error correction model is stable but divergent. Federal Reserve Bank is in favour of fiscal and monetary policy reforms to curb inflation.Item Open Access Impact of Perceived Security, Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) on Customers' Purchase Intent in Online Shopping During the COVID 19 - Pandemic(KIIT Deemed to be University, 2022-12) Prasad, Narayan; Mitra, DebabrataThe convenience of purchasing online is rapidly expanding into everyday life. Metro dwellers, whether young and old, utilize e-commerce sites to stock up on necessities on a regular basis. Customers relied heavily on internet retailers to have food, medicine, and other necessities delivered to their homes during the COVID-19 epidemic. Using a questionnaire, the research surveyed 157 yo11ng adults at US colleges and universities on their online buying habits and intentions during the COVID-19 epidemic. To identify the underlying factors influencing customers' purchase intentions in on line shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic; the study utilized Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) (includes, Varimax with Kaiser Normalization Rotation Methods and Principal Component Analysis) with the aid of the SPSS software package. Customers' perceptions of the safety, utility. and simplicity of online purchasing were shown to have ihe most impact on their decisions to buy during the COVID-19 epidemic. After that, an Analysis of Moment Structures was used for route analysis and hypothesis testing (AMOS). According to the results, cons11mers' "perceived security" has a substantial impact.on their propensity to make purchases while shopping online. Customers' purchasing intentions during the COVID-19 epidemic are influenced more by "perceived utility" than by "perceived ease of 11se, " as measured by standardised regression weight. The study s results will educate on line retaile,;s on what influences consumers' decisions to buy and how much weight each factor carries in the on/ine shopping experience. The transition to Ind AS was never easy, requiring sound understanding of the fair-value approach. The COVID 19 pandemic has hit the entire world and India was no exception. A complete lockdown was announced just before the end of the financial year 2019-20, making it exceptionally challenging for the corporates to prepare proper financial statements.
